In the world of identity theft, we're going to guess that belly dancers usually aren't involved that much. But at "Counterfeit," a big gang of shimmy shakers try to convince you they're someone else. You get to pay for this pleasure, too. Just like any good cons, though, they plan to leave you smiling and asking for more when it's all over, even when you know you've been had. The setup is more of a "trading places" scenario, actually, with Rockabelly, the Indigo, Unmata, Damage Control, Origin, Clandestine, and Modern Gypsy companies performing in the guises of the Oh La La, Fat Chance Belly Dance, Zafira, and Urban Tribal companies. The funky become fluid, the fluid rock out, and the American Tribal fusion stylists go cabaret in a dance-off of epic proportion.
