Dancefloor Carnage from Italy

By Tony Ware

Published on July 16, 2008

From ricotta and Sangiovese to impossibly buttery leather, there are certain arenas where the Italians reign supreme. Add to that list disco-filtered house music and oversexed electro. Bringing sawtooth synths and happy house at a kitten-heels-friendly pace, Italy's the Bloody Beetroots and Congorock load a clip for the ultrahip, assuring their tracks slots beside J.U.S.T.I.C.E., Digitalism, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, et al. The dancefloor becomes a crime scene, home to squelchy castoff caused by the concussive force of clenched tones and divebombing bass.
