This small, dark, and unpretentious Lower Haight spot attempts to inject a subversive element back into the nightclub scene -- and, for the most part, it succeeds. The music runs the gamut (from hip hop to drum 'n' bass to deathrock to reggae), as does the crowd. On a given night you can find drunk trannies trying to climb atop the bar, goth punks wrestling in fake blood, or electro hipsters making out in the shadows. Overall, a good place to escape from upscale and trendy nightclubbers.
